Fall Art Exhibition 2021: ATTACHED

October 15 - 31, 2021

Attached Exhibit Hours

ATTACHED: Our relationships with the objects, places and living creatures that hold sentiment and give us grounding.

We are collectors, keepers and caretakers of our own memories and emotions. What is it about the tangible that offers connection? As humans, we hold onto the tangible, and as Artists we share it with the world vulnerably. This exhibition is essentially about subject matter and offers The Artist the opportunity to share their renderings of what they hold dear.

Navy Yard Off Map: Exploring the Secret Life of a Historic Icon

Navy Yard Off Map Show Dates

Charlestown is a neighborhood of rich, layered history. Through thoughtful observation and exploration, we can see the old and untouched, the drastically changed, and the new in our surroundings.

This exhibition explores the unassuming and quiet beauty of the Charlestown Navy Yard, allowing artists to discover and present their ideas about our complex history.

Navy Yard Off Map will be juried and curated by AGC’s Julie Alailima and James Labeck.

Jim Labeck has lived and worked in Boston with his wife and family for over thirty years. Jim has worked in historic preservation and museums most of his career, and served as project director for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s Renzo Piano extension project. Jim’s photography began as project documentation, and has led to more creative explorations of urban life, landscapes, and our relationship to nature.

Julie Alailima is an Artist who has been making multi-image cityscapes and sculptural abstract paintings for over twenty years. She has been working out of her studio at the StoveFactory since 2017. Currently, Julie serves as the StoveFactory Gallery Chair for the AGC, where she strives to provide quality arts programming for the local Charlestown community.
